Faculty Profile
Dr. Christine Taylor Berry was a Risk Management Consultant and later the Director of Education with Reinsurance Brokers E. W. Blanch and Benfield Group in Minneapolis, MN and Dallas, TX. She has a B.S. in Finance from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University.
Dr. Berry was appointed to the Louisiana Insurance Rating Commission in 2004 and was a leader in helping the state cope with the property insurance crisis that ensued after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She was a strong advocate for the ultimate abolishment of the LIRC.
For the RMI program at ULM, Dr. Berry continues to enhance the program through unique opportunities including offering the same top-level training she helped to create for one of the world's top reinsurance training programs and providing students with an industry-edge by emphasizing surplus lines and reinsurance in the curriculum.
