Faculty Profile
Dr. Robert Eisenstadt holds the PhD in economics from Georgia State University (1991) and a BA in economics from the University of Maryland (1982). In graduate school he specialized in the fields of labor economics and urban/regional economics and has published in those fields. He currently holds the rank of associate professor of economics. Dr. Eisenstadt has taught courses in Labor Economics, Urban Economics, Intermediate Macro and Microeconomics, Econometrics, and the Economics of Aging.
Since arriving at ULM, Dr. Eisenstadt has become very active in the broader community, interacting with media outlets across the State and region, and establishing himself as a principle source of unbiased economic information and data.
After serving as head of the Department of Economics and Finance, Dr. Eisenstadt assumed the role of Director of the Center for Business and Economic Research. Under his direction, the Center produces the Northeast Louisiana Economic Factbook, provides an annual State of The Region Economic Forecast, as well as quarterly regional cost of living analysis.
In his spare time, Dr. Eisenstadt is a frequent volunteer at the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge (helping raise nearly $2 million) and serves on the Public Radio Advisory Board. Dr. Eisenstadt is also an instrument-rated commercial pilot and flew for many years for the Civil Air Patrol. |
